Romain Bottan obtained a professional master’s degree in "Computer Science, Networks and Telecommunications Systems" at the University of Toulouse (IUP STRI) at Alcatel-Lucent and specialized very early in the field of computer security. He started his engineering career at CapGemini Sogeti as a security engineer for the IT security department of Airbus, then spent 5 years working for Airbus before being offered to join Airbus Defense and Space CyberSecurity as a security officer for BoostAeroSpace.

Since 2011, he is responsible for the coordination of BoostAeroSpace security activities and its service providers where he formalized his security skills through the international CISSP and ISO 27001 Lead Implementer certifications.

In 2014, he assisted Airbus Group as Group CyberSecurity Program Manager for one year before officially joining BoostAeroSpace as Chief Information Security Officer.

Since 2018, he is also the Director of the European Aerospace Supply Chain Cyber Security Level Improvement Program AirCyber.
